Interdisciplinary sound projects developed in dialogue with visual works.

The music projects by Ximena Castro emerge from visual bodies of work that explore migration, imperialism, memory and political identity. Lyrics are developed in response to pre-existing images, expanding each project into an interdisciplinary dialogue between voice and visual testimony.

These works move across protest song, spoken word and contemporary political sound, situating music as an extension of image rather than illustration.
